Free Speech Must Prevail!

Net Neutrality is essential to free speech, equal opportunity and economic innovation in America. Since the FCC removed this basic protection in 2005, the top executives of phone and cable companies have stated their intention to become the Internet’s gatekeepers and to discriminate against Web sites that don’t pay their added tolls.

The infrastructure and right of way - including invisible spectrum radio frequencies, are part of the Commons and a Citizen’s Right as written into the Constitution. This wholesale privatizing of our commons is in violation of the Constitution and our rights to free speech. Yes we are entering a new paradigm in technology, wired and wireless communication is new to the 20th Century, but our rights to access information, voices and content on a level playing field are the cornerstone of Democracy. The plans of the Communications Corporations are to divide that with taxation and tariff. This is nothing short of Taxation without Representation. If it is allowed to continue, America suffers.

The FCC must ensure that broadband providers do not block, interfere with or discriminate against any lawful Internet traffic based on its ownership, source or destination.

Free Speech is Free… SO is the Internet. Let them continue to charge customers to access, but not to limit free speech by charging for Content!
