Do not put profits before citizen rights
At this time in history we absolutely depend on the internet for information and communication. To give/sell it in any way to large corporations not merely increase the cost to everyone (like phone bills rising from $15 per month to over $100 per month in about 10 years) but will no doubt over time limit the range of conversation (like cable with over 150 channels and a person can barely find one worth watching at any one time). Net Neutrality is essential to free speech, equal opportunity and economic innovation in America.
While I have not yet put anything on utube, I intend to. How long would a service like utube last with some private corporation deciding it's fate? I just read that it was turned off by a government in the middle east because of a tape criticizing that government. Here in the west, we depend on our government to protect us from such an action. No private company would take on such a responsibility. They are purely about profits, not citizen rights. This fundamental change would end the open Internet as we know it. The FCC must ensure that broadband providers do not block, interfere with or discriminate against any lawful Internet traffic based on its ownership, source or destination.
