Freedom of Speech

As someone interested in free speech and reading what everyone in the world has to say, I am appalled that the idea for private ownership of the internet is even a consideration. Freedom of the internet is integral to an uncolored research environment where everyone is allowed to voice their point of view and ideas without censorship. Giving ownership to a small group, such as a company, means that group has the power to silence anyone or any ideas that they do not agree with. This is dangerous to our freedoms as Americans in general... It opens the internet up to discrimination against any ideas but those the people in control want to be dispersed, and suppression of those ideas it does not wish to be heard.
