Net Neutrality-Keep the foxes out of the henhouse!

Net Neutrality is essential to free speech, equal opportunity and economic innovation in America. Please don't let big businesses subvert the internet for their profit margins. The broadband corporations do NOT have our best interests at heart, and they have already stated that they intend to limit access. In some cases, they have already blocked access to legitimate sites that do not agree with their corporate viewpoints, e.g., AOL blocking access to sites critical of their corporate email policy.

I'm a small business owner who creates dry, boring programs that interface with climate control systems in about 1000 locations. The systems report real-time information into a central database, plus they report critical alarms such as breakdowns and fire alarms that need immediate attention. It's difficult enough to provide 100% reliability as is, but if the FCC allows broadband providers to limit speed and bandwidth for unglamorous uses like ours, it will have adverse effects on our systems and a chilling effect on our ability to provide future services. Our profit margins are extremely narrow. I refuse to pay the broadband pirates that would levy access fees and tolls to ensure connectivity. It reeks of Organized Crime "protection" rackets: "Pay us and we won't burn your house down."

Apart from my business uses, I rely on the internet for ALL my news, music, and information. It is the ONLY media source remaining that is *truly* "fair and balanced". If the FCC allows the corporations to censor and limit traffic of sites they find disagreeable, then it would be a death knell for the freedoms envisioned by our Founding Fathers.

The FCC must ensure that broadband providers do not block, interfere with or discriminate against any lawful Internet traffic based on its ownership, source or destination.

Sincerely,

Joseph Bly
