The last bastion of free speech.

To be young in the 21st century, is to live in a dark world of corporate sanctioned wars, mass censorship, imperialist oppression and hierarchal media consolidation.

At the age of 20, it is already too easy to completely loose any hope for the future. Our elections are rigged, our environment is being raped, our friends and family are slaves to a commercial society that denies them even basic health care and citizenship..... and who will speak for us? It certainly isn't Viacom or Clear Channel. Our only hope, is to speak for ourselves.

The free internet has provided such hope in a seemingly pre-apocalyptic world. It is the only place where you don't have to be a millionaire or a political/corporate lobbyist to have a say in the world. And if the free-internet is sold into slavery of the commercial media, then we might as well give up entirely. because when the last bastion of free speech dies, our hopes for a brigther future will inevitably soon follow....

Free Press is a national, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization working to reform the media. Through education, organizing and advocacy, we promote diverse and independent media ownership, strong public media, quality journalism, and universal access to communications.
