THE AIRWAVES BELONG TO THE PEOPLE

Corporations exist at the pleasure of the people. When corporations abuse the trust the people placed in them, it is time to curtail their overarching abuse of power.

Such is the case now.

The airwaves belong to the people. They are part of the public treasure of this land.

When corporations are allowed to become the tollkeepers of the internet, and to charge whatever they feel they can extract from the public, they are abusing the public trust, and need to be corralled in, or disbanded.

Free Press is a national, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization working to reform the media. Through education, organizing and advocacy, we promote diverse and independent media ownership, strong public media, quality journalism, and universal access to communications.
