Protect Alternative News Sources!

The Internet is the only level playing field in news media. It is the only way to reach millions of readers all over the world without using expensive (and wasteful) amounts of paper; and equally important, it is the best way to generate new dialog on news issues.

Furthermore, Internet news sources allow independent news providers to show more research, that is, to give more information than may be available through, say, Associated Press interviews. By adding links, videos, and comment sections, independent news providers are able to more thoroughly develop stories by providing alternative sources of information.

Don't contribute to mindlessness. Let the people decide which websites they want to visit. Don't let corporations become gatekeepers to the media, the greatest check on the government's balance of power in the court of public opinion.
