Loss of Info is Deadly

It would be historically accurate to say that those countries in which the educational standing of the population is lacking are exactly those most susceptible to falling prey to unscrupulous leaders. Unfortunately, the educational standards in our own Country have dropped over the years. Additionally, many who would have liked to further their education could not, many for economic reasons.

The internet presently serves as a wonderful means of educating many people at one time. There is no phrase which you can type in your search bar that will not produce generally hundreds to thousands of sites on a particular topic. Financial, medical, historic, political - any topic one wants to learn about is at their fingertips on the web.

What a shame it would be to tamper with the diversity of educational information presently available, by allowing groups of people to decide what we should and should not be able to know or learn about. Please, do not let this happen. We, as a Country, know the impact a lack of information for the people can make. Please do not let anyone take yet another freedom away from us.

Free Press is a national, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization working to reform the media. Through education, organizing and advocacy, we promote diverse and independent media ownership, strong public media, quality journalism, and universal access to communications.
