No more...

When my health is in relatively decent shape, I attend class at a nearby college, hoping to get my degree at some point in the future. When my health isn't so great, as it is right now, I spend the vast majority of my time at home, and a large amount of that time is spent online. The freedom the internet provides makes being homebound so much more tolerable, I don't know how I could function without it, and, indeed, I have a hard time remembering a time when I didn't have access to the WWW.

The internet, in its current, free, uncensored state remains an indispensible tool, whether my health is good or not. As a student, I use it constantly to research and learn, and as a hermit, I use it to keep in touch with loved ones and to keep my mind active. In my mind, to change that....to give corporations control of which sites are worthy of viewing and which aren't....the very idea is a tragedy in waiting.

The last thing this great country needs is another area of our private lives controlled and dictated by corporations. Television and radio have both gone down that road, and, as a result, I rarely use both.

Don't force the same fate on the net.
