[...] Savetheinternet.org posted a story and video supposedly of outgoing at&t CEO Ed Whitacre’s farewell talk to the company’s board. The post featured some outrageously candid “quotes” from the talk such as: “There’s a problem. It’s called Net Neutrality,” Whitacre told the heirs to AT&T’s telecommunications empire. “Well, frankly, we say to hell with that. We’re gonna put up some toll booths and start charging admission.” [...]

2traction..

The Problem is that some irresponsible "news" outlets were reporting the story as real.

Such as the "buzz out loud" podcast from cnet.

auser -- There's a gaping difference between parody and propaganda. If you read the lead graf and watch the video, it becomes **glaringly** obvious where this posting falls. I don't know what's funnier; the Whitacre parody or the fact that so many people think a cartoon character is flesh and blood. I guess some people have to be hit over the head with a rubber chicken to get that it's only a joke.

Come on -- I agree with the cause but your doinig everyone a disservice by making it seem like the quotes are real.

Hopefully an organization with less propaganda will pick up the cause.

For those of you who are citing these "Bid Ed" quotes as the real Whitacre. I suggest you watch the video and judge for yourself.
