How can you accuse the telco's of monopolies? They are trying to encourage and protect free market forces. A MONOPOLY means ONE, UNO, UN, single. And your use of the work telcoS is an oxyMORON. When has anyone ever heard of brotherly love amongst telcos? Dude, that kind of syncopation of private agendas does not exist. Can you imagine all the double talk and self destructing napkin note passing that would have to occur. It is obviously a consensus based on logic, not only by the telcos but but by MANY content provider on the internet that free exchange of information should be as such. A bramble bush is a bramble bush if you labelle it 'provider maniuplation' or 'net neutrality'. Control is control. Free the markets. Cut the out hype.

The companies nedd some incentive to do the buildout. The Governments role should be to moniter that buildout along with ensuring minimum speeds and reliability at a reasoable cost. The biggest threat to an open Internet is bandwith scarcity and unequal deployment.
