Jon Stewart on Net Neutrality
By Megan Tady, October 27, 2009
Did you see the Daily Show last night?
Jon Stewart lampooned politicians who have come out against Net Neutrality, including Sen. John McCain, who introduced a bill that would derail the FCC’s proposed Net Neutrality rules.
McCain also happens to receive more telco cash than any other member of Congress. Isn’t that interesting?
And last week, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow also discussed Net Neutrality on her show, skewering McCain – who once confessed to being technologically “illiterate” – for trying to block Net Neutrality.
It’s clear that Net Neutrality has become a part of pop culture – which makes sense, considering that nearly two million people support it. Add your name to the list if you haven’t already. Who knows? Maybe soon we’ll see a pop song about an open Internet.

It doesn't matter if McCain
It doesn't matter if McCain confessed to being 'technologically illiterate', that has nothing to do with the problem at hand. He's old, give him a break. He's just trying to protect our rights.
The people who came up with 'Net Neutrality' and 'the "free" press' (who just happen to be Marxist Communists) as just using biased information and lies to try to trick people into buying into it so they can control everything we read, watch, say, and look at. They even used illegal tactics to try to break down Comcast.
Why then, don't you people-instead of standing up for this-stand up for our rights?
Do you really want to live in a Socialist/Communist country?
I hope, for all our sakes, not.
Excuse my basic words, but
Excuse my basic words, but I'm afraid this has to be said about John McCain:
"What a dick"
His policies are so ROFLable.
Replace McCain if he opposes Net Neutrality
If McCain is going to oppose Net Neutrality I suggest getting him replaced during the 2010 Congressional elections when he's up for re-election. Here's how (I've already done this part -- 1) contact the DSCC -- Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (did so by phone and email) and ask they had Senator McCain to their Hall of Shame for opposing Net Neutrality -- 2nd) spread the word and convince whoever you can that'll be voting in Arizona to vote against McCain's re-election. 3) rally a get out the vote campaign -- against McCain -- the DSCC could run a get out the vote campaign to register new voters in Arizona to vote against McCain and notify existing voters of McCain's positions and why he should be fired. Anything else that can be thought of to help would be good.
Lastly, come election day vote against McCain.
Save The Internet.com could send some Save The Internet staffers also to polling places where there are voting booths and get staff on the air of TV news networks in advance and cited on newspapers and magazines talking about the campaign to oust McCain -- get the press to provide news coverage of Save The Internet and get Save The Internet supporters to vote against McCain if he does not reverse his awful decision.
